Sentio Counseling Center takes great precaution to protect the privacy and confidentiality of our clients and their families.
SCC provides telehealth services via video conference and telephone. All video conference meetings are conducted over a version of Zoom that is encrypted and HIPAA compliant. SCC is a training clinic, and all sessions are recorded for clinical supervision, training, quality assurance, and research. Recordings are stored on an encrypted server. All video conference sessions are conducted using a unique client-specific link for each individual session. Each client is required to sign up using personalized log-in information that can only be accessed with knowledge of the relevant username and password. Similarly, all counselors are required to use a unique username and password to access the encrypted telehealth software for sessions and storage of client information.
Prior to beginning counseling services, all clients and/or individuals serving as guardians for clients are required to provide information related to the client's mental health. This information is used for treatment purposes. We share confidential information only as permitted or required by law, including for treatment, for payment, for the defense of legal matters, and with service providers who are bound by confidentiality agreements.
