Sentio Quality Improvement Projects

Project #1: Deliberate Practice for Empirically-Supported Treatments

The Sentio Counseling Center (SCC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit counseling center and the only counseling center in California that fully integrates Deliberate Practice training and clinical outcome data into every level of clinical service, supervision, and quality improvement. As the clinical training partner of Sentio University (SU), a nonprofit graduate institution in Los Angeles, the SCC advances evidence-based therapist development through structured, research-informed skill building. SCC counselors serve individuals and couples throughout California, including clients in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, Oakland, Long Beach, Fresno, Bakersfield, Riverside, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Irvine, Stockton, and San Bernardino, through online counseling on a sliding scale.

In collaboration with leading scholars and clinicians, the SCC is developing a comprehensive library of Deliberate Practice training materials for empirically supported treatments. These multi-media resources, published by the American Psychological Association, include books, DVDs, and webinars spanning major therapeutic modalities. This project reflects the SCC's mission to transform how counselors are trained by embedding rigorous, performance-focused practice into the learning process. Professionals interested in Deliberate Practice training or collaboration are encouraged to contact us or visit Sentio University's program page to learn more about how SU and the SCC work together to advance clinical training standards.

Project #2: Evidence

As a nonprofit counseling center serving diverse communities across California, the Sentio Counseling Center (SCC) is uniquely positioned to advance the dissemination and implementation of Measurement Based Care (MBC) and evidence-based quality improvement. The SCC is the only counseling center in California that integrates Deliberate Practice and clinical outcome data at every level of operation, from individual counseling and relationship counseling to clinical supervision and organizational strategy. This commitment to data-driven practice is central to the SCC's partnership with Sentio University, where MFT students complete their practicum at the SCC and contribute to an active culture of outcome-informed treatment serving clients in Los Angeles County, Orange County, the San Francisco Bay Area, the Inland Empire, the Central Valley, and communities throughout the state.

SCC leadership regularly publishes and presents on topics related to clinical outcome monitoring, quality improvement, and Deliberate Practice supervision. Our peer-reviewed publications and professional training resources are designed for clinicians, supervisors, program directors, and healthcare administrators seeking to implement MBC in their own organizations. The SCC's approach draws on the Sentio Supervision Model, developed through years of empirical research in collaboration with Sentio University faculty. Organizations interested in MBC training or consultation can contact us to discuss how to bring evidence-based quality improvement to their programs.

The Sentio Counseling Center provides services to further dissemination and implementation of best practices in Evidence and Measurement Based Care (MBC). Clinical outcome data is used for quality assurance and quality improvement at every level of service, including:
