Project #1: Deliberate Practice for Empirically-Supported Treatments
The Sentio Counseling Center (SCC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit counseling center and the only counseling center in California that fully integrates Deliberate Practice training and clinical outcome data into every level of clinical service, supervision, and quality improvement. As the clinical training partner of Sentio University (SU), a nonprofit graduate institution in Los Angeles, the SCC advances evidence-based therapist development through structured, research-informed skill building. SCC counselors serve individuals and couples throughout California, including clients in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, Oakland, Long Beach, Fresno, Bakersfield, Riverside, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Irvine, Stockton, and San Bernardino, through online counseling on a sliding scale.
In collaboration with leading scholars and clinicians, the SCC is developing a comprehensive library of Deliberate Practice training materials for empirically supported treatments. These multi-media resources, published by the American Psychological Association, include books, DVDs, and webinars spanning major therapeutic modalities. This project reflects the SCC's mission to transform how counselors are trained by embedding rigorous, performance-focused practice into the learning process.
