Online Counseling
Safe, Confidential, and Effective Care
Sentio Counseling Center is a California nonprofit organization providing affordable online therapy to adults and couples throughout the state. Our online counseling sessions are conducted through a fully encrypted, HIPAA compliant version of Zoom, and sliding scale fees start at just $15 per session. Whether you live in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Sacramento, San Jose, Oakland, Long Beach, Fresno, Bakersfield, Riverside, Irvine, Pasadena, Santa Barbara, Anaheim, or anywhere else in California, you can access professional counseling from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
As a nonprofit counseling center affiliated with Sentio University, we are uniquely positioned to offer therapy grounded in the latest clinical research and training methods. Sentio Counseling Center is the only counseling center in California that integrates Deliberate Practice methodology and clinical outcome data into every aspect of care. This means our therapists continuously refine their skills using real time feedback and measurable results, so you are not just getting therapy, you are getting therapy that is actively tracked and improved session by session.
Our counselors serve clients across all major California regions, including Orange County, San Bernardino County, Alameda County, Ventura County, and the San Fernando Valley. Because all sessions are conducted online, geography is never a barrier. If you are searching for low cost individual therapy or affordable couples counseling in California, our nonprofit model was built to make quality mental health care accessible regardless of income. Sessions are available in English, Spanish, and Chinese (Mandarin). View our full list of locations served or get started today.
"The interactions, even through Zoom, have felt and been very “real” with each other, which makes me feel safe, open, and in good hands. Just after a few sessions, it will feel like you’re talking to a friend, yet all the while maintaining professionalism." - M.S.

Online Counseling FAQs
How does online counseling work?
Sentio Counseling Center uses a HIPAA compliant version of Zoom to conduct telehealth sessions. Clients receive a custom link for each session and can log in from any secure location. In the rare event that internet connectivity issues impact a session, clients and therapists are able to switch to a phone call until they are able to reconnect on Zoom.
Is online counseling right for me?
Online counseling may be right for you if you do not have a local counseling center in your area or if you prefer the ease of meeting online rather than in person. If you are located anywhere in California and have access to a private space for fifty minutes, online counseling is a convenient option for anyone who wants increased scheduling flexibility and would rather save time by not having to commute to sessions.
What are the benefits of online counseling?
Online counseling can provide unique benefits compared to traditional in-person counseling. It is more accessible for people with busy schedules, transportation challenges, and those who may have difficulty finding mental health services in their local area. Online counseling offers increased flexibility in scheduling and a sense of privacy for people who prefer not to see familiar faces in an office setting.
Is online counseling confidential?
Yes, online counseling has very similar confidentiality laws as in-person counseling. SCC counselors use a secure, encrypted version of Zoom to provide telehealth services. The virtual counseling room will feel similar to a regular Zoom, Skype, or FaceTime call with a higher level of security.
